The Sandwhich Spreader from Wusthof features a high-carbon stainless steel blade, hardened to maintain a sharp edge, with a full tang that provides perfect balance. The saw-like scallops of the spreader cut easily through the tough skins of tomatoes as well as bread. Its oval shape is perfect for spreading. The extremely durable, impact-resistant polypropylene handle is buffed and polished by hand, is moisture- and food acid-resistant and is virtually indestructible. The seamless fit between handle, bolster and full-tang is totally hygienic. An invaluable asset to any kitchen, the knife is made in Solingen, Germany, where each piece is hand-forged in 38 manufacturing steps by skilled craftsmen.
I have been looking for a spreader for months and when I seen this one I jumped at it. The serrated edge is perfect for cutting muffins and a flip over lets me butter.
There's an old anecdote about government misspending/overspending; "An elephant, is a mouse, built to government specifications." Yes, this Wusthof Serrated Sandwich Spreader is top notch and I would've given it an overall rating of 5 (instead of 4) if it wasn't for the price of of almost $20.00 ($19.95). (And I wouldn't have considered it at all if FNS (FoodNetworkStore) was asking the stated MSRP of $30.00!) I feel a more reasonable price - for an equivalent tool, that's LESS overbuilt - would be from $12.95 to $15.95.
This spreader is worth its weight in gold....It not only spreads a good size area, the knive part is very sharp. I used this utensil everyday! I have given these as gifts.
A very good well built product, but a little expensive. You get what you pay for ?
The serrated sandwich spreader comes in handy for many uses. It is a nice size and is very sharp. I have started washing this piece by hand since I've read that is recommended for this quality of a knife.
This is the handiest little knife/spreader. It is great for making sandwiches. Spreads and cuts like a dream. It is also a great tomato slicer.
Great tool for making sandwiches... very well balanced.
An excellent addition to the kitchen utensil drawer. Really efficient in spreading butter, mayo, or other spreads on sandwiches. I love it and bought two extras for gifts.
Like the way it handles; it is well balanced and easy to use.
I only have to 1 knife to make a sandwich
Love using this to spread just about anything! Love, love, love it!
This is one of those kitchen tools that a person will use again and again and again! Sandwich making has never been so easy!
This knife has become the only knife I use, not only
will it slice bread, spread the condiment, it will
slice the tomato and onion to go on the sandwich or
steak. Its sharp, easy to handle and strong enough
to hold up using as a steak knife, I love it and will order
more for xmas gifts.
Excellent answer to slicing tomatoes, and spreading anything on a sandwich with minimum tools.
I highly recommend this product. Best Sandwich Spreader I have found. The serrated edge is very sharp and can be sharpened if it needs to be. I really love this product.
Great tool. Makes spreading the mayo and other condiments very smooth and easy. Fits right down into the wide mouth bottles.
The blade is a bit stiff for what it is itended to do but, I just have to get used to it.
Once again Wusthof makes the best knife for the job that needs to be done. They used to make a smaller butter spreader but it no longer seems to be available. That one was incredible. This one is great.
I love this tool, because it is all you need for creating a sandwich- an kind. You can spread and cut!
This spreader is just the right size to reach the bottom of the Mayo jar. It also cut tomatoes nicely so just one tool for great sandwiches.
