I have been wanting to purchase this cleaver for awhile now. Once it went on sale I did not hesitate. I have been very pleased as I have used it for everything from chopping potatoes to making squid rings.

Wusthof makes the best knives. I find the fit in the hand comfortable and the balance great. Although this cleaver is large is is not unwieldy.

I've never had a Clever. I found this product to be the best cutting utensil ever. It's also quite simple to avoid cutting a finger if common sense is used.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

When you've come back from the market with cuts of meat or poultry, take a minute to divide or cut it into meal-size portions. Whatever you won't use immediately should go in the freezer labeled with contents, portion size, and date frozen. It'll make taking a freezer inventory much easier.
