OXO Stainless Steel Salad Spinner is a Winner
by Susan, NY
April 19, 2007

My family and I are big salad eaters and I wash a variety of fresh greens daily. I had lived with one of those flimsy plastic salad spinners for years, so I was very excited when I read a recent review of the OXO stainless spinner in a cooking magazine. The review was extremely reliable and I found the spinner to be every bit as good as promised--maybe even a bit better.

The stainless steel bowl is substantial and sturdy and includes a non-slip rubber base which keeps the bowl from sliding around on your counter. The overall design is both attractive and functional, and the spinning mechanism is very easy to operate. There is a convenient button which brings the spinning basket to a quick halt and a clever locking switch that keeps the spinning mechanism stable when not in use. The best part is that you can dress & serve the salad in the lovely stainless steel bowl--reducing dirty dishes (oh, yeah!). My only complaint is that the mesh basket is a bit flimsy considering the rather hefty $50.00 price tag (I wonder if replacement baskets are available?). Aside from this one small flaw, I would highly recommend this product!

Great Spinner!

This is a wonderful salad spinner. At first, I thought it was a little pricey. However, after using it, it is well worth the money. The spinner is smooth, and the rubber bottom keeps it from slipping on the counter. I also love the fact that I can store my salad in it as well. I would buy this product again!

OXO Salad Spinner

This unit is an excellent buy. I don't like buying the pre-washed ready to go
salads. They are to expensive. I like to buy green leaf, red leaf and romaine
lettuces. I clean them in the salad spinner then tear the leaves into smaller bite size pieces and combine them all in a zip lock bag. I have salads every day for a whole week.

The spinner gives you a nice and dry product. Well made and easy to clean.

It's worth the money.

A Great Product Made Better
by Joseph, MO
November 7, 2007

I was quite upset when after 5 years our plastic salad spinner bit the dust. It had taken a beating with all the use we gave it. But, I was elated to see that OXO improved the product by making the main bowl stainless steel. It retains the cool of the frig longer than the plastic one. Plus, the rubberized plastic bottom is far superior to the rubberized plastic ring on the plastic bowl. I really like this new product.

I love my new salad spinner. It works super well and I love having a stainless steel bowl build right in to store my salad in and keep it fresh. I'm giving my old plastic one to Goodwill!

Although it's pretty big, this salad spinner is so great looking and, by far, the best salad spinner I've ever used. Stable and made of quality materials.
It's easy to use and easy to clean. And it really, really is nice-looking.

OXO does it again with a truly solid performer. I remember salad spinners as being flimsy plastic things, but this is super sturdy. The stainless bowl is good for a variety of uses, and the brake feature is so much fun to use.

I needed a new salad spinner and wanted something a little more high tech then my old spinner. The product is well made and you can store your lettuce in the fridge in this bowl and it stays crisp and fresh. Loved the features.

Will outlast the all plastic spinners
by Karin, CA
December 3, 2009

I had a plastic spinner with a pull cord for about a year. I probably used it three days a week. A piece of the plastic bowl broke off. I am very happy with this replacement because the bowl won't break and there is no cord. Much easier to use.

My kids are fighting to "spin" the salad!
by Shelby, AR
January 8, 2010

This purchase was a splurge for myself. My mother in law came for a visit and was shocked that I did not own a salad spinner. So after reading about this more sturdy version, I had to have one. This is a really nice tool! Fun for my (4 year old twins) kids to "help" spin the salad. And it even has a "brake" button to stop the spin! HOW FUN IS THAT?! The bowl is very large in size, and now I no longer have to find a large bowl to fit the colander into while the salad was dripping dry in the fridge! This stainless bowl looks professional & has an anti-skid bottom so it doesn't slide off the countertop. I would buy it again!

Wonderful Salad Spinner

I was skeptical about this salad spinner and thought it would be just like the others I've bought, but this one is great. It has a nice steel bowl and a heavier duty strainer basket. I love it.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Buying whole lettuce heads lets you choose what's in your salad. Toss chopped lettuce leaves into a large bowl of water, then lift them out to leave the grit behind. Use a salad spinner to remove the excess water for a crisp and crunchy salad.
