I bought this product specifically for onions. If I was mad at an onion & just wanted to beat the $#!@ out of it then this product would be great. But if you are a cook like me & actually need to have your onion chopped into pieces, stay away from the OXO!!!
Chopping cilantro is never easy, this chopper makes it a bit easier. You have to really wham the top down, and do it for longer than you'd expect, but it does eventually get stuff chopped enough. It is much easier than chopping herbs with a knife, though!
Well designed and works well. Designers thought of everything. Can chop into the measurings marked container, then cap it and put it in the fridge. The attached spoon is a little silly! The whole thing is dishwasher safe which makes a big difference compared to other choppers.
Really liked this chopper. Saves time and fingers.
Have had choppers before, but this is the most convenient and very well built piece of equipment.

A good way to quickly chop leafy herbs like basil is to do a chiffonade. This simply means to stack the leaves on top of each other, then roll horizontally and slice with a sharp knife.
