Good Eats 2: The Middle Years picks up where the bestselling Good Eats: The Early Years left off. Showcasing everything Alton Brown fans (and they are legion!) have ever wanted to know about his award-winning television show, The Middle Years is chock-full of behind-the-scenes photographs and trivia, science-of-food information, cooking tips, and--of course--recipes.

Brown’s particular genius lies in teaching the chemistry of cooking with levity and exuberance. In episodes such as “Fit to Be Tied” (meat roulades), “Crustacean Nation” (crab), and “Ill-Gotten Grains” (wheat products), Brown explains everything from how to make the perfect omelet to how to stuff your own sausages. With hundreds of entertaining photographs, along with Brown’s inimitable line drawings and signature witty writing, this comprehensive companion book conveys the same wildly creative spirit as the show itself.

autographed??

Just a little disapointed in the fact that the BOOK was not autographed but a slip of paper was. The selling point for me was that the book would be autographed by Alton, but it was not. Not happy.

I bought this as a gift for my husband, we both love watching Alton Brown. I guess I really didn't know what a signed bookplate was. I thought the book itself would be autographed, not a piece of paper that could go into anything and get lost :( Was a little disappointed in that as I wanted this to be something special for him. However, the book itself is great.

Bookplate

Having the signature on a separate piece of paper (which you call a bookplate) somehow lacks the impact of having a signature actually on the book. I still like the book, but was disappointed in realizing that the signature was so impersonal. Mr. Brown simply signed a bunch of blank forms. I'm assuming the other authors whose books you are currently offering in this fashion have done the same. Perhaps I was naive in expecting more.
