Good Eats 2 with Signed Bookplate (Hardcover) by Brown, Alton

I bought this as a gift for my husband, we both love watching Alton Brown. I guess I really didn't know what a signed bookplate was. I thought the book itself would be autographed, not a piece of paper that could go into anything and get lost :( Was a little disappointed in that as I wanted this to be something special for him. However,the book itself is great.

I thoroughly enjoyed Alton's new book, Good Eats 2. I love reading about what goes into making my favorite FN show and checking out the recipes. Alton is my favorite FN chef - both on TV and in print, he's funny, intelligent and doesn't talk down to his audience. The recipes are easy to follow and practical for the home cook. I've learned a lot from him and Good Eats. I'm eagerly looking forward to Good Eats 3!

Cooking is sooooo much more than a recipe. Recipes come and go, but technique serves us for a lifetime!! This is where Alton Brown comes in. I was lucky enough to get a signed bookplate! I refer to my books all the time...from out door grilling to picking out my stainless cookware. If it's not in these books, it's just not worth knowing. I'M ALREADY AWAITING THE NEXT ONE!!!

This book is absolutely incredible with so much invaluable information for chefs, bakers, and home cooks alike. My husband is an Executive Chef, my son a chef, my daughter in law and I own are sugar artists, and we all use this book as well as our younger 13 year old who finds it incredibly interesting as well. Alton has an outlook on food unlike any other you see on television or in print and his comedic and yet seriously biochemical analysis of each product is enchanting and infomative at every turn of the page. Thank you for such a marvelous book as well as the opportunity for me to get my husband this specially signed book plate to have framed and put in his office. Cheers, Lisa McCammond.

I was most impressed with the size of this book. A brief glance through before wrapping it for my "gentleman friend," I liked the organization, font, photos, easy-to-read recipes and DVD at the back. I would have preferred that the book be autographed directly rather than a separate piece though. We also own several of his DVD sets -- presents of Christmases past. A few of them did get "Iked" however. Neither of us can wait to thoroughly skim over the book then use it while cooking and as a reference -- right next to the Rombauer Joy of Cooking.

I love Alton Brown!!! He makes cooking interesting and really knows how to bring our the best flavor in foods. I'm so happy he's making his series into a series of cookbooks, because now I can access his recipes with full instruction anytime

I ordered this for my 16-year-old son for his birthday who is a huge Alton Brown fan. I have to say that the book is in his hands every night...he loves it! Very entertaining and nice to learn some of the behind the scenes information.

My son and granddaughter love Good Eats and I know they will be so pleased with this book for Christmas. He makes cooking so interesting.

I had purchased Good Eats, The Early Years when it came out last year and was thrilled with it. I love the show and Alton Brown makes everything so easy to understand. And the book was no disappointment. Not only are the recipes wonderful and easy to follow, but the tips and quips are terrific! Would recommend to ANYONE!!! In fact, I'm buying more for Christmas gifts!!! A++++++++++++

How can you not like this book? Alton Brown is a master at making cooking fun.

I bought this book for a Christmas gift and hope I can wait until Christmas to give it. I gave him the 1st book last year and my nephew LOVES it! This book is beautiful and full of pictures and information, plus the added bonus of the signed book plate. He will love it!!!

It is great to add signed cookbooks to my collection even though the signature is on a "bookplate". I knew that when I purchased the book and decided to order as well as another chef's book since then. It's a great opportunity to have the cookbooks without having to go to so many book signings if they are even available.

What's not to love about Alton Brown...logical, funny and informative all at the same time. I learn a lot about cooking from him and he teaches a broad spectrum of cooking techniques! So much info in one cookbook how can you go wrong!

Just a little disapointed in the fact that the BOOK was not autographed but a slip of paper was. The selling point for me was that the book would be autographed by Alton, but it was not. Not happy.

We love Alton and this is the 2nd book that we have purchased. It's great to have his recipes and techniques.

I ordered this as a present for my oldest son. He absolutely loves Alton Brown. Having the opportunity to cook some of the dishes he has seen on Good Eats is a wonderful way to get him in the kitchen! The added autograph was just a bonus that we couldn't pass up!
