I have been ordering Ritz flour sack towels for a long time, but this most recent order is disappointing. The towels have shrunk way down to a very small size and the cotton is rough, thin and gauzy. I sent cooking.com an email about the product to let you know how disappointed I am in the quality of the towels. I bought a batch of these towels from another supplier and they are just as bad. Apparently, the manufacturer of these once fantastic towels has succumbed to producing a sub-par product Made in China. It is too bad as I am now searching for a new and good quality flour sack towel for our gourmet cooking needs. It is so hard to find a quality flour sack towel so I am really sad that Ritz no longer qualifies. I can no longer recommend this product to friends. Thanks, Judith Benfari
I love these towels...they are the biggest flour sack towels I have ever purchased, and at $10.00 for a pack of 4, they're an excellent value. My flour sacks are the workhorses in my kitchen; they do everything from drying dishes to covering my yeast doughs, and they are the only towels I trust to dry my eyeglasses without scratching the lenses. I sometimes use them to grab hot pots and pans out of the oven when my potholders aren't handy. When they become too stained or worn for the kitchen, they go on to their second lives as cleaning rags, and live on for several years. My daughter and I make sacks out of them and fill them with rice, then sew them closed. Heated in the microwave or frozen in the freezer, they make excellent first aid hot and cold packs, and great gifts for friends and relatives. They can be left white, dyed to match your kitchen colors, or fancied up with embroidery and notions. The most versatile towel ever, and I'd be lost without mine.
No absorbtion qualities but good for price.
Great towels...just like your grandmother's. You can't beat them for softness, absorption and ease of use. Lightweight so they dry quickly. I love using them for covering my dough when rising.
Love these towels - good all purpose towel for the kitchen and some other uses. used one to refinish a piece of furniture recently, so needed more. I keep at least two close by when cooking.
