Stonewall Kitchen was voted "Outstanding Product Line" at the 2002 NASFT Fancy Foods Show in New York.

This pancake and waffle mix was developed by Fred S. Carbon in 1937, a recipe that's been shared among Carbon family members ever since. Introduced to the Stonewall Kitchen owners and staff, it soon became an instant hit -- one that they now carry along with their other lines of exceptional, fine-quality foods. The mix, made with wheat, cornmeal and malt, is responsible for pancakes and waffles that are wonderfully light and fluffy (the best you'll ever have, according to one Stonewall Kitchen staff person). Served with Stonewall Kitchen's Maine Maple Syrup or one of their award winning jams, they'll be an instant favorite at your home at both brisk morning breakfasts and cozy evening suppers.

Terrible taste

I've tried it out and it tastes terrible. Can't recommend it at all. Better off buying something at the local grocery store or making your own.

Heavy and too sweet

I was surprised at how bad the waffles were that this mix produced. The waffles came out very dense and with a sickly sweet vanilla flavor. Breakfast should not taste like something you get at a carnival. I will stay with Washington Brand Pancake and Waffle Flour.

I found a better recipe in a cookbook. Also, I found this product at a specality store at a much cheaper price. I guess if you are in a hurry and don't value quality much, this product is ok.

This pancake mix smells wonderful while it is cooking, but the flavor isn't there. Also it it very expensive for the amount you get.

My Family & I Tried this Product with our new Waffle Maker, and I can't say we were that impressed with the "taste", we made the next few batches with added sugar and vanilla extract....which made them great. Just tasted like it needed something, or something was missing!
For the Price and Quantity you get, I would just rather make my own batter...since I have to "add" things to make this one taste a little better!

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Remember when using a waffle iron not to over-fill it. The batter will spread when you close the iron, so if you put in too much, you'll be in for a messy situation.
