Charming, gorgeous, and extremely talented, Giada De Laurentiis is the star of Food Network's Everyday Italian. She has also been seen in the network's All-Star Thanksgiving special with Emeril Lagasse, Rachael Ray, and others; cohosting (with Mario Batali) the Italian Christmas special and a cross-country series; and starring in her own special from Italy.

The reason for all the excitement? Beyond Giada's camera presence, it's her food; quick, simple, and bursting with the ripe, rich flavors that reflect the best of Italian home cooking. Giada is a Cordon Bleu-trained chef who's worked in some of L.A.'s finest restaurants, but she's also not afraid to use shortcuts and the occasional packaged ingredient. She makes it all look easy because it is, with such features as seven ways to transform red sauce, five variations on cutlets, four great uses for prosciutto, and more than 100 other dishes for speedy but special dinners. Filled with gorgeous photographs, this is the debut cookbook from a major new star.

The recipies are great, delicious and easy to follow. Unfortunately, they chose to print the receipies on colored background with a colored type. Very difficult to read. I would rate this book Best Overall if it the recipies were printed in black and white.

As a Southern Gal married to a New York Italian this cookbook has saved me many headaches in the kitchen. The recipes are easy to use, without spending all day in the kitchen and are delicious.

This book has helped this Irish woman cook like an Italian. I have made 5 or 6 of the dishes so far and they have all turned out very well. My only disappointment was the number of recipes, there could have been more.

The book is great I really like it but I was slightly disappointed in the choice of recipes since I am a big fan of her show. The recipes are easy and pretty much any level of experience could use this book.

I like her recipes but don't care for the format of the cookbook. It would have been much nicer to have far more pictures of the food and far, far fewer pictures of Giada.

This one is right down both my husbands and my alley. We LOVE her recipes. They are so much like having our grandparents here with us. Some of the recipes we have forgotten in our families till this book. Her Stuffed tomatoes are absolutley perfect for a summer day, with a peach bellini. They are very easy to make, some ingredients you may have a hard time finding if you do not have italian markets, or some kind of health food/whole food type markets.

I just received this cookbook and love it. The recipes are tasty and most are fairly simple in steps and ingredients. There are some helpful tips which I always like to see in a quality cookbook. I bought mine on sale so it was an extra good value.

Inviting

So far I have found this cookbook to be an encouraing and inviting cookbook to use. I feel as though I too can make these recipes. I really like how Giada keeps it simple and how she gives you ideas on what to keep in your pantry for every day use. The book is colorful; it reminds me of words she would use like crisp, fresh, simple and delicious. I can't wait to dive in!

I have watched this show and enjoy it because, her receipes our very much like the ones my mom made. the receipes are very easy to follow and usually I have all the ingredients in the house at all times. My family was over for thanksgiving and I made Giada's aunts stuffing and it really went over big. I just ordered two more books one for my daughter and one for my brother. I would definetly order again. Hapy holidays/

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Recipes that call for wine do so to enhance the flavor of the dish- so it's not the time to use that half-opened bottle of red that's been sitting in your fridge for a month. If you wouldn't drink it, then don't cook with it.
