Everedge Plus Cutlery Set with Graphite Block (13-pc.) by J. A. Henckels International

Not very impressed. I knew before ordering that they were serrated, but considering they were Henckels, I thought they would be better than the 'ginsu' type knives out there. (yes I'm lazy and was trying to avoid regular professional sharpening... stupid me) They do look nice (which is why I purchased them), and the price was surely right, but I guess I'm not used to having to 'saw' through an onion. The bread knife is good, as a previous reviewer posted.<br><br>I guess you get what you pay for. I like the look of them in my kitchen and will use the steak knives and some of the other knives, but I ordered one of Henckel's 5-star Santoku knives to use in place of the Chefs knife for basic chopping, dicing. <br><br>All in all, not bad for the price but don't expect the performance of a forged knife. My $60 set of 'Cooks Essentials' I purchased from QVC a few years ago (don't laugh), actually outperform these as long as you keep them sharpened.

The design is very sleek and looks nice in any kitchen. The easy grip handles are a plus - I do not have those on my professional set of Henkels. Many cooks look down on "ever sharp" models but these knives work very well for the every day user. I ordered this set as a gift for my in-laws but I have a set at home too that has held up well.

Excellent value. Great knife starter set for newlyweds who like to cook.

All you have to do is cut a steak with these knives(paper thin) and you'll know you have a quality knife at a very good price.

Great set of knives at a great price! I have been able to cut through all my meats with ease, and the handles are quite comfortable...and very aesthetically pleasing! The silver and black go quite well in my kitchen. I would recommend these knives to anyone.
