Move over, OXO! The Zyliss is my NEW FAVORITE
by Cynthia, NY

I LOVE salad - and I eat a LOT of it. A reliable salad spinner is a MUST for someone like me. That said, I always had a special place in my heart for (and recommended to everyone I knew) the OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner. NO LONGER. When the spinning mechanism (hidden within the one major drawback to the OXO - that big uvula-like protuberance which hangs down from the lid, taking up valuable space in the basket) inexplicably stopped working, I went shopping for a new one. I decided to give the Zyliss a try - not sure how I would like the pull-cord method, but wanting that extra room in the basket for storing my lettuce/greens. And I'm here to tell you, am I ever glad I did! There is clearly more storage available AND the pull-cord works so smoothly, so effortlessly, it's almost fun! The push-button

Salad Spinner Keeps Lettuce Longer
by Irene, GA
December 4, 2008

This is a very sturdy product and a great addition to my kitchen. Not only does it do a great job of removing the water from my salad greens, it also keeps my greens fresh and crisp for a really long time in the refrigerator. I just spin, remove the water from the bowl, then pop the whole thing in and there is always crisp lettuce ready for salad! I love it!

It's a little awkward with the rip cord!

I couldn't live without a salad spinner! I had a 'cheap' one that broke after a year. It had one of those hand pumps. I figured I would invest in a good brand name instead of buying the cheaper ones every couple of years! What kind of savings was that! I really like the Zyliss - the quality is evident. I also like the warranty!

This is so worth the money! It keeps your salad greens fresh for much longer and you can conveniently store them right in the bowl itself. Highly recommended!

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Buying whole lettuce heads lets you choose what's in your salad. Toss chopped lettuce leaves into a large bowl of water, then lift them out to leave the grit behind. Use a salad spinner to remove the excess water for a crisp and crunchy salad.
