Diners, Drive-ins and Dives: (Paperback) by Fieri, Guy

I am a big fan and couldn't wait to receive my DDD book. What a let down to find that Guy Fieri and Food Network advocate the representation of such sub-par standards. This is not a "book. It is a thick soft cover magazine printed with coloring book quality paper and poor resolution black & white photos. I am insulted to own it and too embarrassed to share it. Simply put, Guy chose to save money in production and make money in sales. Want a coloring book your kids can doodle in, spend the $13 (sale price) and get one. If you want to return it, the restocking fees and shipping discourage it.

Too embarrassed to give this as a gift...not at all what I expected; have no intention of trying any recipe. I expected list of diners,driveins, etc by location that I could look up when going on vacation so I could experience what is on the food network program. So many chefs and cookbooks, this is the worst I have ever seen.

We were disappointed with the recipes in the book--there seem to be many more appetizing meals that Guy eats, but these recipes just don't seem to be them.

I was very disappointed in this book.I was expecting recipes for corned beef hash,fried chicken,pig ear sandwiches,corn dogs,BBQ,Mexican food,etc.Guy has had so many good foods on his show-I don't know who picked out the recipes for this cookbook,but they were completely OFF the hook.I won't be adding this book to my collection (approximately 500).I'll give it as a gift.Next time I'll make sure I can look through a book before ordering it.Thank you

I was not impressed by the recipes included in this cookbook. I think there were at least 3 mac and cheese recipes if not more. Very redundant or boring not unique, if he were to do another type of book it should include a map of the places mentioned and the foods that were featured on the show with at least one signature recipe from the show, I got the impression that some of the owners would not release some of their recipes.
