For those w/ their own collection of knives this is great protection.

It is perfect for my needs. Only drawback was my kitchen shears didn't fit in the space provided.

I'm pleased with my new cutlery block. I only wish it had more slots.

A bit unhappy but I brought it on myself. I bought this block to hold the knives I purchased that were a different brand because the Victorinox Fibrox brand (recommended by America's Test Kitchen) didn't have a block to purchase for their knives. The slots in this block were not quite wide enough for the knives to set in it properly. The product was good other than that.
