This makes the best soups, stew, etc. So far I have made Gumbo and French Onion Soup. It keeps things from burning (I have a tendency to do too many things at once and get distracted.) I have also found it easy to clean.
The Staub Dutch Oven is everything I hoped it would be. Besides being a fine quality product, its is so beautiful I keep it on display in my kitchen. I highly recommend this dutch oven to anyone looking for a medium sized pot that also is great looking.
Yeah, it's not cheap, but it lasts a lifetime and you can use it for all sorts of foods. Compared with a similar Le Creuset, it seems to brown things better, as well. From baking bread, chili, braised foods, and roasted chicken, this thing is my favorite kitchen tool next to a chef's knife. Also it looks really pretty. I highly recommend it.
We love our dutch oven by Staub. The quality is worth the price. We tried other dutch ovens and found them falling apart/chipping after only a couple of uses. We are 'flexitarians' who tend to cook a lot of veggie meals that we can spread out throughout the week. We choose organic, natural, and local foods and the flavors meld together and cook thoroughly in our Staub. I am very happy with this purchase and would purchase again.
