    Good Deal
    by Barbara, MO

Like the capacity and shape .... browns meat very effectively. Double handled feature good for my mother with arthritis, who finds long pan handles a problem.

    Roomy, everyday pan...
    by Timothy, TX

Good for the oven too! Used this pan to sear a small roast, then tossed in my veggies and some seasonings, a dab of water, put on the lid and right into the oven.

    5 qt. stockpot
    by Trish, IL

I bought the 5qt. stockpot to replace the 8qt. stockpot that came in the 8 pc. set. The 8 qt. is just too large a capacity for my purposes. Although the 5qt. is the capacity I prefer, I was disappointed in its wider/shallow shape compared to the 8 qt. narrow/tall shape. The lid to the 5qt. does not fit my 10 in. omlette pan so now I'm without a lid for the fry pan! Why wouldn't all the stockpots have interchangeable lids? The 5qt. also takes up more space to store due to its broader bottom. I could have puchased a 4.5 qt stoctpot which probably has the right lid for my fry pan, but it was much more expensive! Go figure.

    The perfect kitchen pot!
    by Toni, IL

Since I received this pot I have used it for just about everything. Soups, Stews, Sauces & Oven casseroles. This pot heats evenly, is not heavy to carry and cleans up perfectly. I am considering getting a 2nd one for when I wear this one out.

    Best non stick pan ever!
    by Barbara, VA

Saucier pan is perfect size for big pot of chili, spaghetti, or any other sauce. Love the fact that nothing sticks and same is true for reheating!

    slight modifications
    by Alex, NM

overall great, could use a heavier gauage of metal to maintain heat evenly and longer. Would a vent hole in the lid help spill-over? Thanks Alex

This pot is great for stews & hearty soups, like bean or split pea or lentil. Great size for making enough for the freezer.

    Love it
    by Tom, GA

I bought this as I needed something to make casseroles in. Great product as usual. Have been using Calphalon cookware for 10 years now and won't use anything else. This Dutch Oven is the perfect size and I love the glass top so I can check the food without removing the top,

    My new BFF.
    by Carolyn, CA

Yes, it is my new best friend forever. I cook every night and like to serve different dishes to prevent boredom and "any night" specials. I have wanted a Dutch Oven for a long time. I received one as a gift, but could barely lift it empty, let alone with a 3 to 4 pound chicken in it. The friend who gave it to me graciously took it back for herself. I kept searches on-line and have gotten several things from Cooking.com. When this was advertised, I ordered it immediately and used it the day I got it and LOVE IT. Clean up is a breeze and it looks beautiful enough to put it in the middle of the table and serve from it (with Caphalon utensils). Thank you Cooking.com. I will continue to order to replace much used cookware/appliances as I go. C. Ross

    Great investment
    by Leslie, OR

This is an addition to several other pieces in this line. I had been using my 8-1/2 qt oven, and wanted a smaller one. There are so many reasons why I like this oven, but I am in love with the fit of the lid. It is perfect; no dripping down sides, no rattling, condensation is sent back into the pot where it should be! If I could design a pot for myself, it would be this.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Homemade chicken stock tastes way better than store-bought broth, and it's super-easy to make when you've just cooked a roast chicken or bought a rotisserie chicken from the market. Just put the carcass in a stock pot, cover with water, and add salt, pepper, garlic, and roughly chopped sections of onion, carrots, and celery. Simmer uncovered for 30-60 minutes, then strain and freeze whatever you don't need immediately.
