Backed by a 10 year warranty, Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized Cookware is made to professional standards, offering the home chef unsurpassed cooking performance and lasting durability. Each piece in the Commercial Hard-Anodized line is made of a heavy-gauge aluminum that distributes heat evenly and eliminates hot spots as you cook. And because it's made entirely of metal, each pan can be used in the oven and under the broiler. Hard-anodizing seals the cooking surface, making it stick-resistant and non-reactive to food. Handles are designed to stay cool on the stovetop and are balanced with such precision that even full pans are easy to manage and carry.
Not safe with metal utensils, appliances or sharp instruments to cut, chip, mix or release foods in a nonstick pan.
The Chef Casserole is a very versatile cookware and I like it very much. I've been a fan of Calphalon since it was introduced at Foley's dept. store. I purchase a few "try me" collection and I loved them and still use some of them. The only difference between this chef casserole and the ones I have is the thickness. Hope this piece will last a long time.
I was looking for this size pot just like my calphalon set. This is not as heavy as my others but it seemed to say seared and thought it was the same kind. I do like the pot though and will use it.
I've used this once for a stove top recipe - it performed flawlessly. I do wish this was the thicker typical calphalon - it feels light weight and I know it is represented as a casserole, but I'd like it better if it was more like a dutch oven.
While this is not as heavy as my other calphalon pots and pans, it is a great size.
Upon purchasing this product it was listed as a commercial grade product. As I have owned calphalon commercial grade pots a soon as I unpacked it I knew it was not. It is thin light and did not have the sturdy structure I am accustomed to. My greatest dissapointment came when I turned the lot over and found it was made in China. I was actually saddened by this, but it offered an explanation as to the poor quality of this pot. Will be returning this product.
