Not U.S. made as it seems

This item not American made as it appears, made in China. Very disappointed this fact not clear on this website. I returned the product. We have no confidence that there is no lead in Chinese made products.

Excellent dutch oven. I have a Le Creuset dutch oven that was a gift and for me the results are the same excellent. And by the way if you look at alot of chefs cast iron cookware it is made in China too. Rachael Ray etc.

I was very disappointed to find "Made in CHINA" written on the box! I bought Lodge, because I thought it was US made. It was not advertised as such. I gave the pot to charity and I hope that it does not "poison" anyone with lead or cadmium! Please add the maker of the product which you are selling.

Great product

Not only in this dutch oven lovely, it makes the best bread I have ever had. The dutch oven traps all of the steam and creates a perfect crust. Frankly, we just couldn't afford a Le Creuset dutch oven, and this was one was recommended by Cook's Illustrated (couldn't bring myself to buy the other dutch oven they recommended, as it was only available from Wal-Mart)...

Anyway, we are really enjoying this product. Definitely do not put it in the oven at greater than 450 as the handle top will crack. This heat limitation would be the only limiting factor for this product, but we have just adjusted our cooking regime for the bread--really, for the price, aesthetic value and products that come out of this dutch oven, I don't mind the temperature limitation at all!

Good buy.

More than what I was expecting! Works perfectly and you just cannot beat the price over the expensive brands. I hope Lodge considers producing more of the other sizes the expensive brands offer. Great product!!!

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Dutch ovens are not only great for cooking, but they're also fantastic serving pieces. Cast iron and ceramic retain heat longer than other materials, so they'll help keep your food warm at the table. Your hungry diners can serve themselves family-style, which means less hopping up and down for you. Just be sure to put a trivet under the dutch oven to protect your table from any heat damage.
