Coconut Chocolate Chip Gooey Cake (2.1-lb.) by Paula Deen

I absolute love chocolate and coconut is my favorite food - but these two put together in the coconut chocolte chip gooey cake was not a good combination - hate that I spent that much money on somthing that I was so disappointed in.

This cake was so crunched up when it arrived I didn't have to cut it. It was also way too sweet.

I have ordered this cake several times, and everyone loves it!!! However, the shipping costs more then the cake, almost one and a half times more, that is why I do not think it is a good value for the price.

I did not like paying 2 different shipping fees because the 2 products I ordered came from two different warehouses. I love Paula and love Savannah. I lived there once and miss it so. I feel Paula is a big enough company now to absorb one of these. And I hate critisizing her or her company.

I took my Coconut Chocolate Chip Gooey Cake to a family reunion in Florida. It was a big hit! Only a small piece was left on the plate. The cake was warmed just before we eat it. It reminded me of a Peter Paul Mound candy bar. I was so impressed that I ordered two more gooey cakes for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Looking forward to more great reviews! I traveled with the cake over 300 miles. It was well protected in the plastic cover it was shipped in and still frozen when I arrived at my destination. My hairdresser always gets this from me for Christmas every year. His wish was the chocolate chip one. In their shop, when they get candy, etc. for Christmas, they all share! Keith "hides" his Paula Dean Gooey Cake so NO ONE gets any but him!

I purchased this cake as a surprise for my 21 year old daughter, for Easter. She was in 7th heaven with it, as was the rest of the family. so moist, each flavor stood out on it's own, instead of blending together. My daughter so fell in love with it , she was going to ask you to make her 22nd b'day cake....should I be jealous..lol

I purchased this cake for my husbands birthday in April. I am sure he is going to LOVE it because he LOVED the coconut gooey cake. Wish I could make them myself because I really can't afford to but these.

the two cakes came in, warm, not cool. they had also been tilted at some point and were warped and a little melted looking. the flavor was great. one had been inteneded as a present and I was very disappointed, it wasn't presentable enough to give to as a present.
