I absolutely love this flavor of hot chocolate in the store and was excited to order the product to have at home. I have made this at home several times and it does not taste good at all. I realize it will not taste the same when made at home as it does in the store, but I was surprised at the difference.
This is as good or better than the in-store version of Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. I hope it is available off-season as well. It is a mix of hot chocolate powder and small caramel/sea salt pellets that dissolve when mixed with hot milk.
A quick and easy cup of hot chocolate with an amazingly smooth and filling chocolate taste!
I expected the hot cocoa to taste like the one i've become familiar with at the Starbucks Stores. I brought it for my kids and after one sip, they refused to drink anymore, even after i added sweetners.
I think that this is better left for a trip to Starbucks. The taste is a little flat, but of course the ease of make-at-home possibly makes up for that. Knowing that you can whip up some semi-gourmet hot chocolate anytime is nice. An improvement for me would be if the chocolate flavor was a bit more prominent and the salted caramel more in the background, as I really love salty sweet treats. But I think I will pass on refills of this item.
