I purchased this same model teakettle about 10 years ago and it worked beautifully. It was used multiple times daily until finally one day the disk on the spout just fell off. I purchased a replacement about a month ago and the whistle only worked occasionally. Cooking.com was very helpful and it was easy to get a replacement for the defective one I had received. The replacement performed the same way whistling sometimes. This time I called Chantal and the customer rep was also helpful and sent me a new disk (the whistle part). After replacing the disk the problem persists. At this point I'm tired of dealing with it. I'm going to keep this teakettle and keep looking for one I like better. I won't buy this brand again, which is too bad. We got great use out of the very first one.
This teapot is attractive and I like the look. I had anticipated a lower tone like a foghorn sound, but it is actually shrill and more high pitched than I expected.
love it... this is my second Chantal teapot... would never own any other kind... I use it daily and after 15 years the whistle on my old still sounded great... just looked a little tired after all the use... Buy quality and cry once!
This is the only copper kettle we could find that is made for using rather than decoration. It has a heavy aluminum base and stainless steel interior. <br>Commercial chefs don't use teakettles - maybe that's why copper ones are rare.... This is a beautiful addition to our copper pots. Well designed and sturdy with a lovely 2-tone whistle.

For the perfect cup of tea, start with cool filtered water and bring to a rolling boil before pouring it over your teabag. Steep according to the directions on the tea package- different blends require different steeping times.
