Almost impossible to find an old fashioned percolator in any store. Went on line to purchase this one. was it expensive?
Yes. but since I couldnt find it anywhere else, it was worth every penny is cost. we have a little 4 cup percolator, but by the time the coffee was finished brewing we were lucky to get 2 cups out of it. This one will be perfect when we are without electric, which will happen, even if a hurricane hits far away. thanks cooking.com for being there and having the right product.

This is the second Farberware coffee pot that I have purchased. The first was not from you. In both cases, the plastic knob on top of the lid fell apart after only a few days. I will not make that mistake again.

could hardly wait to get Percolator. Good quality steel, well made. Makes good coffee just like my Mom made back in the day from the traditional one. Coffee is exceptionally good made from this percolator but it does leave a few grounds at the bottom as expected in all percolators, I suppose.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

When shopping for coffee, look for a few key terms that'll ensure the best possible brew. "Fair trade" means the coffee farmer was paid a fair living wage for his beans. "Organic" means the coffee trees weren't treated with any pesticides. "Shade grown" means the beans didn't come from coffee trees that were genetically modified to grow in the sun. Coffee trees naturally thrive in shady forests, but a lot of coffee these days comes from trees that were modified to grow in the sun, meaning that indigenous forests have been clear-cut to make way for large-production coffee farms.
