Best parer ever
by Peter, FL

The Shun line is nothing short of exemplary. Well-balanced, easy to control, and comfortable to hold. The steel takes an extremely keen edge, and holds it as well as any knife I've used, other than the better ceramic knives. All this in a design that is beautiful to behold. I know this sounds like ad copy, but the knife is really terrific.

Best knives I've ever owned
by Mary E, NY

I am one of those people who try everything from Ginsu knives to the pricey chef's store brands and these are the best ones I've ever used. Shun Knives make chopping chores a cinch. Never realized how easy chopping could be till I had these. I have the paring knife, utility knife and 7.5 in. santoku and I can't wait to get a couple more.

Shun paring knife
by Robert, WV

I have a large Shun chef's knife and use it a lot. It keeps a sharp edge and has a feel of high quality. I had an old generic paring knife I had purchased in Paris 35 years ago, so I was ready for a replacement. The price was right, so I leapt at the chance to get this new paring knife. It has that same quality I liked in the chef's knife, but the blade is too long to do some tasks (removing the core from a tomato or strawberry, for instance). It works very well for mincing shallots or garlic, peeling potatoes, and taking corn off the cob. Overall, I like the knife, but I wish I had paid closer attention to the clearly-stated dimension. Four inches is too long for a paring knife blade.
