This is a wonderful paring knife. It is incredibly sharp, fits perfectly in my hand. It gives me pleasure every time I pick it up. You will not regret this purchase!!
This is by far the best knife I have ever owned.
This is my second Shun knife purchase. They are not only easy to sharpen and keep sharp but are among the easiest knives to handle when cutting. They are well balanced and the "D" shaped handles make for a very comfortable full grip.
I have a large Shun chef's knife and use it a lot. It keeps a sharp edge and has a feel of high quality. I had an old generic paring knife I had purchased in Paris 35 years ago, so I was ready for a replacement. The price was right, so I leapt at the chance to get this new paring knife. It has that same quality I liked in the chef's knife, but the blade is too long to do some tasks (removing the core from a tomato or strawberry, for instance). It works very well for mincing shallots or garlic, peeling potatoes, and taking corn off the cob. Overall, I like the knife, but I wish I had paid closer attention to the clearly-stated dimension. Four inches is too long for a paring knife blade.
This is my third Shun knife and I am as pleased with it as I have been with the other 2
