I had bought this for my mom on her birthday and i've also used it a few times myself and it is very sharp and cuts like a dream. Its the sharpest knife i've ever used, i want one for myself now. So if you want a very good, sharp knife this is it.

The knife is wonderful. It's so wonderful that my husband, a surgeon, cut himself the first time he used it. I warned him. Expensive but worth it.

Very good knife

I have a Heinkels set that I've used for years. I read the reviews on Wusthof and needed a larger Santoku knife so I took the plunge and bought one.

I use it for everything now. It keeps it's edge and is my favorite go to knife.

The free sharpener was an added bonus, but haven't needed it yet as the blade is still sharp as when I took it out of the packing material!

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Don't you hate it when you're trying to slice a cooked potato and your knife just smushes it instead? Try using a santoku knife instead. Its blade has specially designed hollow indentations that reduce drag when cutting, so your knife will slice right through. Santokus are also great for cutting soft cheeses, slicing onions, and just about all your everyday chopping tasks.
