    My first set of good knives

    I bought an 8-inch Wusthof Trident chef's knife for my dad as a Father's Day gift in 1976. I didn't have a clue about what to look for. I just knew it felt good in my hand. Dad loved it. That knife stood up to 20 years of use. When he passed away in 1996, three of my brothers actually fought over who would inherit it. They resolved their disagreement by investing in Wusthof knives themselves.

    It took a while, but finally my chance to own a set of Wusthof Classic knives came along, and I couldn't be happier. Quality construction, great balance, and the shears come apart for thorough cleaning.

    There's a wedding coming up in August. I already know what I'm giving the bride & groom.
