I needed a torch but did not need all the dishes and that is all I could find locally. Love the fuel gauge as my old one didn't have one and it sure is frustrating to run out of fuel when you need it. I also like the ease of use on this model.
The Chef's Torch with Fuel Gauge is easy to use and fits in your hand comfortably. The easy to see fuel gauge takes the guess work out of deciding when its time to refuel. It would be nice if the torch held more butane, which would cut down on the amount of times it needs refilled. Other than that, it is a wonderful product.
I looked on the Food Network website and was pleased to find this item so that I might use it for caramelizing creme brulee. Other reviews liked this unit for its durability and features, especially the site gauge for fuel in the handle. However, I must say that after using the product a total of once, it has steadfastly refused to light whenever I attempt to use it. I even tried lighting it with a candle-lighting butane lighter but to no avail. I have tried refilling it (multiple attempts at starting the torch will bleed off the fuel and I have tried different butane fuel all to no avail. On the odd occasion I can get the unit to produce a flame, it will nearly always go out while I am trying to use it as designed. Maybe I just got a lemon--it can happen with anything--but I would hesitate to recommend this product to anyone.
No matter how hard I tried not to burn the sugar an creme brules under the oven broiler, invariably I did. Not with the Chef's Torch! It is wonderful and so easy to use!

Greek-style strained yogurt is thick and delicious, but can be expensive. Make it easily in your refrigerator at home by straining regular plain yogurt through cheesecloth overnight.
