The PepperMate is made of the finest materials and assembled with precision and care to provide years of trouble-free dependable use. The ceramic pepper grinder is adjustable to any size, from fine to coarse. Grinds any dried spice or millable ingredient up to the size of a coffee bean. Ceramic mills are versatile because they are not affected by corrosive elements such as salt. The removable clear bottom cup conveniently catches grinds and the lid snaps allowing plenty of room to refill.
I collect pepper mills. This is the only on that I will use. I love it
This is supposed to grind fine or coarse pepper, it will not grind anything but very very fine. The grinder is off center, at least on mine it is. A waste of money. I will be returning it.
I used this pepper mill only 5 times before it broke and was useless. I have returned it for a refund. VERY disappointed.
I loved it—for about two weeks. Then the mechanism that adjusts the size of the grind broke and now it is stuck on the finest grind.
i purchased this pepper mill a few years ago and decided to purchase one for a friend recently and was very disappointed in the way it is now made, mine is ceramic and this one is plastic and feels very inferior and the price was expensive for this quality.

When it comes to buying ground pepper versus grinding your own, there's no comparison. Use a grinder to grind peppercorns, and see how pepper is really supposed to taste. Not only is the flavor fresh and good, it also gives you a lot of freedom with your pepper: use a coarse grind (big chunks) for bold pepperiness on meat and salad, and a fine one for fish or lighter soups.
