I wish this came with 2 non-slip sheets. I could have used it them in two different places at the same time: under the cake plate to keep the cake secure to the stand and under the stand itself to keep that from slipping. Luckily I had some of this material and was able to cut one myself. Next the stand separates a little to easily. I don't put the cake on the stand directly. I put it on a plate so I don't have to pick up the cake again. The top part, on more than one occasion, rose up when I got up close for detail work. If you are an occasional decorator, like me, and you don't need the cake stand more than 2-3 times per month, then this little product
This product is great, but I cannot always use it since I don't make round cakes that often. I would love to find a larger rectangular one.
Cheap plastic turntable, not worth the cost.
Works fine - seems a little flimsy. Comes apart for storage.
After searching for a long time, I was thrilled to discover a rotating cake decorating platform that worked smoothly, didn't wabble, felt sturdy and didn't cost an outrageous amount. Great value for the money. Only complaint is that you have to be careful if you move the platform with the cake on it platform will immediately pull out of pedistal which can prove to be awkard.
If you've ever tried frosting a cake with a regular dinner knife or rubber spatula, you'll understand how frustrating it is when you don't have the proper tools. If you're serious about baking homemade cakes, invest in an offset spatula to help you navigate the faces, corners, and layers of the cake like a pro, taking away the difficult straight angle of a regular spatula.
