You don't need to be a chef to use a chef's pan. They're a great pan to have on hand because their design is a hybrid of a sauté pan and a sauce pan, so you get the benefits of both. They're fantastic for shallow pan-frying, quick braises, making pasta sauce, and even frying chicken.
