The sturdy block is made from hard rock maple, with a 10-in. deep cutting block on top that's hand-finished using mineral oil and paraffin to help prevent nicks and also prevent bacteria from penetrating the surface. This model measures 34-in. tall, so it's comfortable to stand and chop at the same time. It also has a knife rack attached to the side, so you're ready to prep food at a moment's notice. It's a valuable piece that will last for generations. Surface is 24-in. x 18-in.

I am very pleased with the John Boos butcher block. The quality is excellent and it was easy to assemble (install the legs).
