Are you ready for a Throwdown? In his first ever direct Food Network tie-in cookbook, star chef Bobby Flay presents the sought-after recipes from his hit show, now in its seventh season.

Every week celebrity chef and restaurateur Bobby Flay goes head-to-head with cooks who have staked their claim as masters of an iconic dish--buffalo wings, chicken cacciatore, sticky buns, or coconut cake--even though he may never have cooked these things before. The results are always entertaining--and delicious. In his first-ever cookbook collaboration with Food Network, Bobby shares for the first time the recipes and the fun from his popular show.

Both Bobby's recipes and his challengers' are included, comprising a "best of" cross-country tour of regional specialties and good-hearted competitive spirit. Try dishes such as Bobby's winning Mac and Cheese Carbonara recipe, which just edged out Delilah Winder's 7-Cheese Mac and Cheese, made famous at her eponymous restaurant in Philadelphia, PA; or Joe and John Castro's Kentucky Hot Browns, served at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, KY--the recipe that served Bobby a major defeat. Home cooks can make both dishes and decide for themselves which one wins!

Color photos documenting favorite Throwdown! moments will fill the pages, as will beautiful, all-new color food photography created just for this book. Bobby Flay's Throwdown! is the ultimate companion cookbook to one of America's favorite food shows. As Bobby says at the end of each episode, "So to all you cooks out there, keep doing what you do. But ask yourself this: Are you ready for a Throwdown?"

I love his show and how it is written, filmed, and the exciting buildup of the throwdowns. Having both recipe and the photo of the events is like reliving my first seeing the program. Thanks to Bobby and his assistants, it comes up a WINNER!

Terrific recipes. I was surprised that there were many recipes from the other chefs. Although, I suspect that a number of them gave "close ,but not exact "recipes. The puffy taco shells would seem to be an example. These recipes are what makes their dishes better than anyone else, so I guess you can't blame them for keeping a few secrets. I have found that even those are( along with Bobby's) the best I have ever had. My only disappointment was that I really wanted the recipes from the Feast of Seven Fishes episode . Maybe in the next book. Throwdown is a perfect vehicle for Bobby Flay. Within the framework of the challenge, he gets to do what he does best, be a creative chef. The chemistry between Bobby ,Stephanie and Miriam is really special. Early on, with the Food Network, I thought he was a bit of a "star chef". This was certainly earned because no foreigners ever seemed to win on Iron Chef Japan once, much less twice. After watching Throwdown for a while, it struck me that, in spite of his camera presence and obvious cooking skills Bobby seemed to be a bit shy and accepted rather than reveled in his "star chef" status. No matter the outcome of any Throwdown, we know that we are going to meet great people and have a really good time. This book helps us relive all that fun.

I have probably watched every episode of Throwdown, so I was excited to order the cookbook. When it arrived, I read it from cover to cover. Not only does it have the recipes that I wanted to try, it tells about the cooks/chefs and about how the throwdown came to be. I love my book. It will make a great Christmas present for the cooks in my life.

I have to say, that since I have been watching the Food Network Channel, you have peaked my interest in cooking again. I have been cooking since I was a little tot, that was my grandmother's way of keeping her grandchild from going crazy in her home. I was the sold and pepper girl. I love your thrown down program and have down loaded several of your receipies for family dinners, or dinner parties and holidays of which there are 45 people. I read a cook book like a novel from front to back, then I go through testing receipes. Excellent book, I wish you and your family well. Barbara Marchi South San Francisco, California

The advertisement said the book would be autographed and have a bookplate. I did not receive an autographed copy and there was no bookplate. This is false advertising!!!!!!!!!!
