Another quality product from KitchenAid

I chose this unit because of KitchenAid's reputation for quality products, and I have not been disappointed. It is a fairly quiet machine. I like the removable inner cup. I prefer function over form, but this unit gets A's in both categories. I needed an adjustable grinder to go with a new French Press. I typically fill half-way with beans and it performed well; a medium grind. For the next test, I filled the cup to max level and I was prepared for a mess on the counter (after a reviewer's comment) but that did not occur. In fact there were barely any grounds in the lid at all. What did occur: the grounds produced were too fine for the French Press, but will do nicely for the drip-machine. Overall I am happy with the purchase. Thank you KitchenAid for another quality product!

Haven't used this yet but am familiar with the product from work. We use it for spices and small items. It is a gem. That's why I ordered it. I am looking forward to having it on hand when next I need it. It's a great tool--nothing to do with coffee, everything to do with herbs and spices.

The best I've used, ever

I bought it because of the price. I was pleasantly surprised at the performance. The beans grind evenly unless I fill to the top mark. I like that there is no button on the front, to accidentally activate. It's not as loud as my previous burr grinder.

Poor spice grinder
by Marianne, VA
April 15, 2013

my intention for this grinder was to grind aindian spices and occasionally make small chutney batches. This grinder does not Di the job. The spices fly out around the top and into the grinder itself which creates a huge mess . It also does not do the job of grinding cumin and coriander seeds. It could not even begin to grind a dried red pepper in some vinegar. Do not buy.
