Ina Garten knows that the best meals are those where friends are so comfortable they feel like family--and family members feel so much more special. It's meals that focus on a warm, shared experience, whether gathered in the kitchen as the cook stirs the butternut squash risotto, or enjoyed around a big table with big platters of oven-fried chicken passed back and forth. With that in mind, she has assembled yet another outstanding collection of beloved recipes that are easy to make and will delight everyone.
Ina's East Hampton Clam chowder is a stew packed with fresh clams and vegetables, the Lobster Cobb Salad is an old favorite made special with big chunks of lobster, tomatoes, avocados, Stilton blue cheese, and crisp bacon, and her lasagna is updated with turkey sausage. And there's no shortage of outrageous desserts, from Raspberry Cheesecake and Rum Raison Rice Pudding, to the Coconut Macaroons that people have longed for at Barefoot Contessa.
With wonderful photos of Ina cooking in her home, as well as helpful menu suggestions and practical shopping tips, the volume is today's must-have guide to making everyday meals elegantly simple, and entertaining as warm and inviting as a family meal.
I've watch the Barefoot Contessa on the Food Network for years. I love her recipes.. Her recipes are easy to follow and contain fresh ingredients that can be found in the supermarket. Her presentation is perfect and recipes are simply delicious.
Ina Garten's books are great and this is just one you should add to your collection. She shows you how to make really simple food and makes it easy, but in a beautiful way for any guests or just yourself. Every page had a photos which is a must so you can see the end product. She tells you where to get hard to find ingredients and makes cooking so easy. I would recommend all her books to complete your collection. This is one you shoud have on your shelf for sure!!
this book was a steal compared to other stores which sell it for $35. Amazing recipes. I haven't been able to get into the heart of the book but i'm working on it!!!
I just love Ina Garten and her Family Style Cookbook. As I was reviewing the cookbook, I knew I would be using most of the recipies. The recipies are easy to follow and are good for cooking for a large family. The next book I am going to get is her Barefoot in Paris Cookbook. I would highly recommend her cookbooks to anyone.
So far all the recipes I've tried have been hits. I enjoy the pictures of each recipe. Love Ina's show and now her cookbook - I'm sure I'll be adding more to my 'library'.

We hate wasting good ingredients- especially pricey ones like Parmesan cheese. When you've grated every last bit, save the Parmesan rinds for the next time you're making soups or stews. Tossing it into the pot while cooking is an easy way to add rich flavor.
