I bought some silicone potholders from a school fundraiser a few years ago, and I have been looking for more ever since. They are flexible, washable, very heat resistant. No more burning your hand if your hotpad gets wet while using it. They can double as a trivet under a hot pot. I wish I could buy them for every cook I know.
It's a great item. I wish the price would be cheaper though.

Dish sponges are havens for bacteria because they thrive in warm, wet places. The only way to prevent them from forming is to have a dry sponge, so make sure never to leave a wet sponge lying in your sink; you can use a sink-side metal basket to help your sponge dry out. And to avoid cross-contamination, make sure to use a separate sponge for washing dishes and cleaning countertops.
