Growing up in an Italian-American family, Rachael Ray has always known her way around the kitchen. Her combination of girl-next-door humor and approachability, plus easy and unfussy recipes, has made her a household name today. Rachael got her start managing a gourmet food store in New York City, then working at a kitchen supply store in Albany, where she taught cooking classes to help drive sales. As her classes became more and more popular, word began to spread about her “30 minute meals” concept, and she was tapped to host her own show on Food Network. Today, the Emmy award-winner is the host of 30 Minute Meals, Tasty Travels, $40 a Day, and Inside Dish with Rachael Ray for Food Network. She is also the host of a successful talk show, editor of a booming magazine and has written over 10 cookbooks.
