Alton Brown got his start in television working behind the scenes as a cinematographer and video director. Looking for a fresh start, Alton left the film business and moved to Vermont to train at the New England Culinary Institute. He channeled all of his knowledge into Good Eats, a smart and entertaining food show that blends wit with wisdom, history with pop culture and science with common cooking sense. Alton is the creator, writer, producer, and host of Good Eats, but he also lends his seemingly endless culinary knowledge to Iron Chef America as the commentator. And, on his newest series Feasting on Asphalt and Feasting on Waves, he takes viewers on a quest for the best flavors that America and the Caribbean have to offer. In addition to his television work, he has written six cookbooks, one of which received a James Beard Award.
