With full sails, an empty stomach and a good stiff breeze, Food Network's Alton Brown launches Feasting On Waves, the newest incarnation of his popular Feasting On Asphalt series. With a mission to seek out only the most authentic Caribbean cuisine, Alton and his intrepid camera crew taste their way from island to island visiting local spice houses, farmers markets and portside food stands. This six-week series follows Alton as he leaves behind the motorcycle leathers, grabs a wetsuit and takes a dive in the hunt for a tasty evening meal or a sunken clipper ship. The journey begins on the island of St. Kitts, also known as St. Christopher, after famed explorer Christopher Columbus. The twin catamarans carrying Alton and crew sail on through the Leeward Islands of St. Eustatius, Saba, St. Maarten, St. Martin, Anguilla, Anegada, Virgin, Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Tortola. The tradition and history of the islands find full expression in the flavors and spices that this merry band of sailors discover on their maiden voyage.
