A real bomb
by Doris, TN

This item is a big disappointment. I was so anxious to get it to use at night to wake me up at odd hours. We, nor anyone we've asked, has been able to set it correctly and the instructions were of no assistance. So, it's lying in the junk drawer in the kitchen.

I was expecting a timer that had multiple settings, so am quite disappointed in this product. The description of the product upon first reviewing it, appeared to be just what I wanted. When I went back after the receiving the product, I realized that I had misunderstood the description. My fault, but also partially the way it was written.

Problem with the timer
by Joseph, NJ
December 26, 2012

Twice out of 5 or 6 times the timer has stopped before the end of the time. On both occasions I was wearing the timer with the lace around my neck. Apparently the stop button was pushed on contact with my chest. The timer otherwise is great, but of little value if it doesn't time to the end.

in the middle of a very tricky procedure the timer stopped working. The magnet does not stay attached and causes timer to default.

Mixed emotions on this one. I love the size, and the easy of setting the timer. However, have had much difficulty adjusting the clock time.

One big flaw
by Fern, CA
September 15, 2007

It is too easy to interrupt the timer function by hitting the yellow button inadvertently. There is a beep when you hit the button to alert you. But, if you are in a noisy situation, you can miss the beep. Then later you realize the timer is not counting down. Annoying.

This is a fine product, but I thought it would keep more than one time for multiple cooking projects.

too small
by Glenn, CA
January 9, 2008

I purchased this timer because Cook's recommended it. My complaint is that the number pad is quite small. I have to look closely to punch in the right numbers. If it was twice as big and I'd have no complaints and I'd purchase it again.

great timer for busy cooks

I bought this for my stepmother who would put things in the oven, then walk away to do laundry or clean up around their place. She wouldn't hear the timer on the stove or microwave and lost a couple of dishes to being overcooked.

It took her just a little bit of time to figure out how to use and she's been delighted with it ever since. Pop food in the oven, set the timer, hang it around her neck and off she goes! great tool for all those who multi-task.

Handy Timer
by Ann, WI
October 8, 2008

I ordered this timer for use in my kindergarten classroom. It has performed well. I like that it is lightweight and on a string. I wear it everyday and use it to keep track of a variety of deadlines and tasks. If you accidentally bump a button, it does beep, but you can easily set it back to the previous setting. When you set the clock initially, don't forget to program hours, minutes and seconds (00:00:00) for a total of six digits.
I am considering ordering a second one for my assistant to use.

Straight forward little timer! Easy to operate and the alarm can't be missed. Careful when wearing it with the provided lanyard or you may stop or reset it.

So Good I purchased it for Friends
by Pamela, GA

The best part of this timer? —The cord which goes around your neck and the size, which makes the cord possible. Other timers may work fine--but if you don't hear the signal, what good is it. This timer has cord so it can go can conveniently go with the cook to other parts of the home! It could be less expensive, however. Then I could buy more for other friends...

Love this! You can punch in the time!
by Lorri, FL
February 28, 2011

I love this because you can wear it around your neck and not be tied to the kitchen. Also, you punch in the time instead of pushing the button 45 times for 45 minutes. The only reason I gave it a four instead of five is because it is easy to bump the buttons and erase the set timer. Now, I use this many times daily and this has only happened twice but it really throughs you when it does. Still, I would buy another one.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Give your oven about 20 minutes' time to preheat before putting in your food- then, start your timer. Putting your food in before the oven's fully heated will result in uneven cooking.
