the purpose of the purchase was to be able to get involved with the next task without having to chech back with the oven timer. This timer accomplished the goal.

I love the Polder Timer and have used it so much since buying it. You can wear it around your neck and go anywhere. It's great.

I use mine all the time. It allows me to get something cooking then wander away from the kitchen without fear of overcooking or burning anything. It's one of my standard gifts. I've probably given away 6 or 7 of them in the past couple of years.

This a fabulous portable, precise timer! It rings long and loud and the battery lasts a long time. I had one for years until it accidentally went through the wash and got waterlogged. You can even use it as an alarm clock! One tiny gripe though...if you put the timer in your apron pocket instead of around your neck, there's a slight chance of buttons being pressed that can turn the timer off, or change your settings! HOWEVER, I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!

Everything else is perfect with this order, however last year I ordered Nigel lawson cooking bowls- blue for a wedding gift and when they arrived there was just a hairline crack in the largest bowl but it broke when they tried to use it. I contacted UPS and they said since I didn't have the box and packing anymore they couldn't do anything.

Would Cooking.com address this gift problem? I'm in a difficult situation with the couple- my husband is their lawyer and it's very unconfortable to say there's nothing I can do!

please advise. As you see in my reviews everything else has been stellar!

thanks much
Christine Marti.

I searched all over for a timer that would keep ringing until you turned it off
(For those of us who need to be driven crazy).
Not only did the Polder neck-strap portable do that, but it weighed practically nothing. **** It would have gotten 5 stars, but it appears a little fragile.
However, when one I bought as a gift came not working, Cooking.com replaced it immediately. Make it 4 1/2 stars.

Very handy little tool. I do have a time on my stove but am often too far to hear it. This solves that problem. In addition it keeps timing after the buzzer so you can't lose track of your cooking. I did not find the directions particularly helful nor was the clocking setting particularly intuitive but I may have been having a dumb moment - I can never remember how to set my car clock either. Otherwise its certainly worth the small price.

This timer is so easy to use. I love that it just sits on my fridge so I can grab it and put it around my neck allowing me to go and do whatever needs to be done in or out of the house and still hear the alarm. The only problem I've had with it is that it came off the magnet on the back, but a dot of glue should take care of that.

I have had a timer like this since 10/99 and have loved it! I had gotten it from some mail order offer - I think it was Signature - and I never could find another. When I finally went on the Internet and found you, I ordered 16 (!!) of them as gifts for most of my family members. I am sure they will be as pleased with it as I have been.

I purchased this as a replacement timer for my mother after she broke off the plastic cover over the LCD display on her previous Polder timer. This is a great product - very easy to use, with a large display and loud beep, and durable (I don't know what my mother did to break hers). My husband and I use ours for many tasks - timing yard watering, program taping, naps, and refereeing my kids' soccer games, as well as cooking. It can be used as a clock, a count up timer and a countdown timer. Very handy if you're baking something and aren't always in the kitchen to hear the oven timer.

in the middle of a very tricky procedure the timer stopped working. The magnet does not stay attached and causes timer to default.

Mixed emotions on this one. I love the size, and the easy of setting the timer. However, have had much difficulty adjusting the clock time.

Having worked many years in a research lab, I'm used to carrying around an assortment of timers. That habit carried over to my kitchen, This style of timer is easy to manipulate and transport. My only problem was that when I leaned over the counter to reach other equipment or ingrediants I would accidentally turn off the timer. To solve this problem I put it on a longer lavilier or drop it in my shirt pocket while still attached to the lavilier.

This handy little tool allows you to move about the kitchen with the timer hanging around your neck. When you have things cooking, you cannot always see a timer or when you have to leave the kitchen area. This handy little device does the job well. The only nitpicks are that the buttons are small and the glue that holds the magnetic bar is not very strong (it comes off too easily when you pull off the fridge). Other than that, worth getting.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Give your oven about 20 minutes' time to preheat before putting in your food- then, start your timer. Putting your food in before the oven's fully heated will result in uneven cooking.
